The SparkPlug
Sparkplug is built on a simple premise: creative ideas should be brought to life by the communities that want them to exist. For too long, the tools to fund ambitious work have been out of reach for Indian creators. We are here to bridge that gap. We believe that a vibrant society requires the protection of creative space—where culture is defined by the people, not by entertainment executives or gatekeepers, and stymied for want of institutional support and backing. On Sparkplug, creators will keep total control of their vision, free from the demands and attached strings of traditional funders/investors or 100-page grant applications.
How the Journey Works
Everything will be a project—a finite goal with a clear beginning and end, like a film, a gadget, or a community art piece. We operate on an "all-or-nothing" funding model. Creators receive the contribution if the fundraising has been succcessful by their target date. This ensures creators have the exact budget they need to succeed before they begin. When you back a project, you aren't just a customer in a store; you are a participant in a creative process. In return for your support, creators offer unique rewards—limited editions, first copies, or one-of-a-kind experiences—that share a piece of the project with you.
However, this is not an e-store. Rewards are not products to be sold. They are a promise - a pinky promise - to gift you a token of appreciation.
The Ground Rules
To maintain a community built on trust, every Sparkplug project follows five core principles:

Something to Share: Every project must result in a completed work to be shared with the world.

Radical Honesty: We prohibit misleading imagery. If you’re building hardware, you must show a functional prototype in its current state, not a CGI render.

No Fundraising for Donation: While we support nonprofits, funds raised here must go directly toward the creation of the specific project outlined. No fundraising for donation to a charity.

No Equity: This is a space for creative support, not financial investment. We do not permit the offering of shares or revenue splits.

Prohibited Items: We do not allow items that are illegal, heavily regulated, or those that fall outside our safety and community guidelines. The assessment of project will be subjective, and decision will be final.
